What to expect

First we need an informal chat so we can exchange ideas about the kind of pictures you’d like and how best to achieve them. Wherever possible I like to combine this with a visit to your house (or other chosen location) as part of my preparation. A typical photography session is usually two or three hours in the morning or late afternoon (I prefer to use the best natural light), generally on a weekday, although weekends are fine too.

Sessions need to be as comfortable, fun and stress free as possible. Your home usually makes a great setting; surrounded by your things and ideal for newborns and small babies. But wherever we choose – and I know lots of great outdoor locations too – flexibility is key around children; so lunchtimes, naps, mood swings, don’t worry - they can all be factored in.

It can take hundreds of different kinds of shots to find the real winners, but once we’re all happy, I edit the images and put the best selection online in a secure area of this website for you to review at your leisure.

My standard fees include large, high quality prints of your three chosen favourites, along with digital files of those images for online use and sharing. Additional prints (or other products) from your photoshoot are available at additional cost. Please see my fees page for more details.
